Dr Sathyamurthy was appointed as Consultant in Respiratory medicine from November 2010  at South Tees NHS Trust and appointed as the Clinical Director of Respiratory Medicine at South Tees from November 2021 to May 2021. During that tenure he has transformed respiratory services at South Tees with commissioning of new high quality services like Acute Respiratory Assessment Services, severe asthma clinics, home ventilation services and Endobronchial Ultrasound services improving the quality of care given to our patients with care delivered closer to home.

Dr. Sathyamurthy is the lead for the regional Bronchoscopic Lung volume reduction services and recently appointed as the Clinical Chair of the Medicine and Emergency Collaborative of South Tees NHS Trust. He took over the Secondary Care Clinical Network lead for respiratory from June 2020 and together with colleagues of the network and Trust clinical leads has been successful in implementing adult and paediatric Long Covid clinics and Covid virtual wards across the region. Dr Sathyamurthy vision is to strengthen the network, develop the subgroups that we have established in the last year to cross learn good practices and achieve the NHS Long Term plan goals.
